Shirley Louise Lauchlan

Shirley Louise Lauchlan, 83, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 in Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, Hampden Twp., PA.

She was a retired educator with the Harrisburg Academy, Wormleysburg, PA. She received both her undergraduate and Masters in Entomology from Queens University, Kingston, Ontario. Shirley was also an active, devoted member of Silver Spring Presbyterian Church, Mechanicsburg.

Shirley was born in Mattawa, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Donald Lesley and Margaret (Bell) Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and David Lauchlan; an infant grandchild; and was the widow of Robert Lawrence Lauchlan.

She is survived by her children, Christina Sarabia and husband Xavier of Kennesaw, GA, Alix Lauchlan and wife Joanna Widdows of Delray Beach, FL and Scott Lauchlan and wife Karen of Coatesville, PA; and seven grandchildren, Alejandro, Elena, Roberto, Antonio, Jose, Eleanor and Adelaine.

Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Friday, November 11, 2022 in Silver Spring Presbyterian Church, 444 Silver Spring Rd. Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with the Rev. Don Wahlig, her pastor officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to service time in the church. A private burial will be held in Little Lake Cemetery, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
