Shirley M. Blumenstine

Shirley M. Blumenstine, 92, of Penn Twp., formerly of Sebring, FL, died Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon. Born in Lightstreet, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Hazel (Pooley) Lizardi. She was also preceded in death by sons, Robert and William Blumenstine, brothers, Stanley, William, and Boyd Lizardi, and sister, Cleota Fritz.

Surviving are her daughters, Connie Clouser (Michael) of Duncannon and B.J. Teichman of
Bloomsburg; three grandchildren, Amanda Witte (Raymond), Lauren Blumenstine (fiancé Sean Magee), and Aubree Baker (Todd); daughters-in-laws, Paulette Blumenstine (Robert) and Kathy Williams (William) and Sister-In-Law, Gloria Lizardi (Boyd).

She retired as a Registered Nurse from the former Pennsylvania State Hospital; was a member of Polyclinic Nurses Alumni Assn. and Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, Harrisburg. Shirley loved her retirement years in the warm south, spending time with her family playing cards and games and creating just about anything from fabric, yarn, and threads. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and was a care taker for many.

Memorial contributions may be made to the PA State Wounded Warriors association, or veterans association of your choosing, or the National Dementia Foundation.

At Shirley’s request, no funeral services will be held. Private Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
