Shirley M. “Shirl” Williams, 79, of Upper Allen Twp., Mechanicsburg, died Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
She retired as a Sales Representative for the former AMP, Inc., Harrisburg; a 1954 graduate of JBJ High School, Boswell, and a graduate of Maryland Medical Secretarial School in Hagerstown, MD. Mrs. Williams was a former medical secretary at Harrisburg and Polyclinic hospitals; a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg; Foxy Lady Red Hats; Zee Legionettes; Order of Eastern Star, Capital City Chapter #146; Washington Band in Annville; Greenwood Community Band in Millerstown. Mrs. Williams served as an Aide’s Wife to the Potentate of the Zembo Shrine where she enjoyed attending many conventions and Potentate’s trips with her Shrine family. Born on December 16, 1936 in Boswell, she was the daughter of the late L. Russell and Geraldine E. (Biesecker) Patrick.
She was the widow of John H. Williams and was also preceded in death by her son, John H. Williams II, two sisters in law, Janice Williams and Joan Gelormino, and brother in law, Dock Williams.
Surviving are two sisters, Charlotte Brame (John) of New Cumberland and Dixie Geistwite (John) of Harrisburg; a brother, Rick Patrick (Faye) of Mechanicsburg; two sisters in law, Brenda Denzer (Karl) and Jean Williams; a brother in law, Tim Williams (Dar); many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Monday at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 5000 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, with The Rev. Kevin E. Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
Visitation will be held 5 – 7 PM Sunday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, and one hour prior to services in the church on Monday.
