Stephen J. “Kansas” Vugrinec, 78, of York Haven died Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.
A Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a retired Route Salesman from the former Stroehmann’s Bread Company. A family man, he adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He was a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland.
He was born December 17, 1944 in Topeka, KS to the late Stephen Francis and Mary Victoria (Fabiankovitz) Vugrinec.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon K. (Coder) Vugrinec; children, Colleen M. Sowers (Jeff) and Shawn M. Vugrinec of York Haven; siblings, Linda Palmer, John and Bob Vugrinec, and Ann Fackler; grandchildren, Nicole, Tristin, Wyatt, Jared, Olivia, Rachel, and Gage; great-grandchildren, Brady, Levi, Bryan, and Leah; and his best friend, Jerry Orlowsky.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30am Thursday, December 29th at Parthemore Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at St Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge Street, New Cumberland. Interment with military honors will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
