Steven R. Smith

Steven R. Smith, 62, of New Cumberland, died Monday, July 1, 2013.

He retired as an Administrator I, Bureau of Design, Right of Way Acquisition Unit, PA Department of Transportation; an Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam War; a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church; a Yankees and Steelers fan and loved the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrud (Jansen) Smith.

Surviving are his father, Henry R. Smith Sr. of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Henry Jr. "Herb" of New Cumberland, Michael R. of New Cumberland, Christopher "Nick" of New Cumberland, and Clement of York Springs; two sisters, Henrietta "Yetty" Todd of Harrisburg and Theresa McNelley of Mt. Holly Springs; his dear friend, Ellie Schmidt of Wormleysburg; his California girls, Jennifer and Riley; many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Michael McFadden as Celebrant. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Viewing will be held 9 – 10 AM Monday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
