Suzanne L. Houser

Suzanne Lee Houser, age 58, of New Cumberland, passed away peacefully at home, with her husband Daniel J. Houser at her side.

Born September 15, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Richard Carr and Nancy (Kendall) Carr, of Port St. Lucie, FL. She is also survived by a sister, Lynda Merkatz of Palm City, FL, a brother David Carr and his wife Jen of New Cumberland, PA and a niece, Jessica Bishard of Palm City, FL. In addition, she is survived by a daughter Danna Kiluk and her husband Thomas of Henrico, VA, a son Kory Houser and his wife Donna of New Cumberland, PA and her grandchildren, Atlee and Marcus Houser.

Suzy was a graduate of Camp Hill High School and Shippensburg University. She was the owner of Olde Towne News & Coffee, New Cumberland, PA and Vintage Corner, Lemoyne, PA.
Suzy and Dan were married for 20 years. Their Tenth Anniversary was spent in St. John, where they were married. They listened to Kenny Chesney at Woody’s, and had a fabulous adventure to Yost Van Dyke on the fine vessel “Jaws”.

Suzy loved her cats and self-admitted that after adopting three strays, she had to stop taking them in. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing games. She was invincible at Scrabble.

Filled with compassion and an interest in others, Suzy made friends easily. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and making everyone who entered their home feel like family. She also loved a good cabernet.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30pm Saturday at St. John’s Cemetery, Hampden Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Suzy’s name to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17110. The family wishes to thank Hospice for their loving and respectful care of Suzy.
