Thelma M. Reisch, 85, of New Cumberland, died on September 1, 2018, at Harrisburg Hospital. She was born on June 9, 1933, in Etters.
Thelma grew up and lived in Fairview Township, working as a management analyst for the former New Cumberland Army Depot. She was an avid traveler, visiting and living all across the United States, including a 25-year period where she resided in Hawaii, and then Florida. She was a long-time member of Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, Goldsboro; she was also a member of Port St. Lucie Elks Club, where she advocated for women’s inclusion in the club. Aside from her love of traveling, Thelma could likely be found in her garden, in Las Vegas at Harrah’s Casino, analyzing and playing the “Blazing Sevens” slot machines (her favorite), or rooting for Joe Paterno on Saturday afternoons. In her later years, Thelma loved being with her great-grandchildren, passionately supporting them throughout Red Land youth sports, as well as their other endeavors.
Thelma will now be reunited with her late husband, Charles F. “Spike” Reisch. Surviving are two children, Wane R. Stoner, of Pearl City, HI, and Sharon M. Carroll (and husband, Loyd) of Seminole, FL; a brother, Jack Dietrich, of Dover; grandchildren, Stephanie (and husband, Jody) Henline, of New Cumberland, Stephen Whitebread, of Enola, and Robert Stoner and Precious Stoner, both of HI; six great-grandchildren, Colton, Jaden, Landon, Sonny, Robert Jr., and Ellagence. Thelma also leaves behind her companion, Frank “Bud” Poole.
A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30AM on Thursday, September 6, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at 11:30AM.
