Thersa (Morrison) Weicht

February 25, 1939 — June 23, 2021

Thersa (Morrison) Weicht, 82, of Camp Hill, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at VibraLife Rehabilitation Center, Mechanicsburg. She was the daughter of the late Robert Morrison and Carolyn (Killian) Cunningham, born on February 25, 1939 in Carlisle.

Thersa was a woman of faith and someone who always put others first. She attended Carlisle High School and somehow wound up at Black’s Roller Rink at the same time as Robert Weicht, a young man from Harrisburg. She was 18 and he was 21, and just this past year the two celebrated 64 years of marriage. She was a 40+ year member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Harrisburg, and then attended several Lutheran congregations on the East and West Shores. No matter the church, she made volunteer work and church functions a priority. And this wasn’t because she had spare time to give; Thersa managed to raise a family while also having a career, retiring from Rite Aid, Shiremanstown, after 18 years of employment. She was a talented seamstress and took pride in her gardening, and she would regularly take toiletries, canned goods and homemade meals to the food pantry and local missions. She and friends from her neighborhood in Progress would hold monthly pinochle nights, and this went on for more than 50 years. Disney World was her favorite travel destination, but Wildwood and the Jersey Shore were fun places too. Maybe it was because these trips were spent with her kids and grandchildren; she cherished the time spent with family most of all.

Surviving Thersa is her husband, Robert C. Weicht; sons, Jeff Weicht (Sheila) of Mt. Wolf, Todd Weicht (Jane) of Camp Hill and Tim Weicht (Pamela) of Camp Hill; grandchildren, Megan Bates, Bobby Weicht, Leisa Barry and Samantha Kang; great-grandchildren, Henry and Sofia; and siblings, Don Morrison and Terry Shank. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Morrison; sister, Carol Cunningham; and sister-in-law, Sharon Morrison.

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Thersa’s name to: Bethesda Mission, PO Box 3041, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
