Thomas E. Turnbull, Jr., 72, of Middletown, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in Penn State M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.
He was a retired music teacher and band director at Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown and a US Air Force veteran. Tom was a former officer of the Harrisburg Musical Association Local 269 of the American Federation of Musicians; former director of the New Cumberland Town Band and the Derry Brass Quintet; and a former member of the 776th Air Force Band.
Tom was born in Norristown, PA to the late Rev. Thomas and Helen (Lindermuth) Turnbull, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of more than 51 years, Margaret A. “Peggie” Turnbull; children, Thomas J. “TJ” Turnbull and wife Lisa of Middletown and Adlain A. “Addie” Milheim and husband Shane of Mansfield, PA; a sister Lois R. Hulsizer of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Madison, Mallory, Raegan and Jase; his niece Karen (Hulsizer) Rex; and two great nephews, Christopher and Matthew.
Funeral services will be held at 5 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2020 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with the Rev. Dr. Keith Blank officiating. Viewing will be from 3 – 5 pm Sunday in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at 2:30 pm on Monday, January 6, 2020 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
