Thomas E. Oliver, 91, of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024. He was the son of the late Edward and Veronica (Thomas) Oliver, born on January 18, 1933, in Chicago.
Growing up in Cook County, IL, Tom was a graduate of St. Rita of Cascia High School, going on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, in Business Administration. Stationed in San Diego, CA, he would serve his country in the U.S. Navy, with tours to Japan, the Panama Canal and on board his ship. He also spent time with the Naval Reserve. Tom was employed with IBM as a Sales representative and transferred to the Moline/Rock Island, IL office.
He belonged to, and was past president of, the Rock Island Rotary Club. After retiring and moving to Central PA, he joined the West Shore Rotary Club. He was a life member and a past-president of the Hershey Region AACA. He spent his free time restoring antique cars and working on his train. He was a man of faith, and family always came first for Tom. He was a longtime parishioner at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill, and was head usher for 30 years. He loved traveling, cruising, and visiting family, friends, and relatives around the globe.
Surviving Thomas is his wife of 66 years, Dorothy A. Oliver; children, Vicky Kvist (Roger) of Gavle, Sweden, Thomas Edward Oliver II (Jackie) of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Chris Oliver (Karen) of Annapolis, MD; grandchildren, Anthony, Brittany, Branden, Shannon, Shaun, and Anna; and a great-granddaughter, Rylee.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill, with a visitation beginning at 10AM.
