Thomas Paul Sullivan

Thomas Paul Sullivan, 78, of New Cumberland, died Friday, July 12, 2013 in Golden Living, Camp Hill after a long struggle with dementia.
He was a retired co-owner/operator of L.J. Allen Tire, York; a 1954 graduate of Mt. St. Joseph High School, Baltimore, MD and Loyola College, MD; and a Navy veteran serving on the USS Taconic during the Lebanon conflict. He was a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland, was an avid golfer and a die-hard Penn-Stater.
He was a former member of West Shore Country Club, Reciprocity Club of Harrisburg, Lower Allen VFW Post 7530. He was past president of Beacon Hill Community Association. He volunteered with Helping Hands Ministry.
Tom was born in Boston, MA to the late Maurice B. and Anne G. (McDevitt) Sullivan and was preceded in death by an infant son Stephen Sullivan; a brother Maurice B. Sullivan; and a sister Margaret Ann Ryan.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-two years, Dorothy L. “Dottie” (Willi) Sullivan; a son Thomas P. Sullivan, Jr. (Deborah) of Red Lion; two daughters, Margaret A. “Peggy” Patrick (Edward) of Camp Hill and Maureen Sullivan Chasteney (Edward) of Vancouver, WA; two step daughters, Sherry L. Goehring (Joe) of Mechanicsburg and Sandra L. McDonald of Mechanicsburg; and ten grandchildren, Jennifer and Steven Patrick, Erin, Thomas III and Michael Sullivan, Olivia Chasteney, Dorie and Molly Goehring, Jamie and Tyler McDonald.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, July 16th in his church with the Rev. Tiburtius Antony Raja as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30am prior to Mass at Parthemore Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
