Thomas S. Keiper IlI, 69, of Newberry Twp., Etters, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at his home.
He retired as an Inventory Specialist for the Defense Distribution Depot Susquehanna Pennsylvania, Fairview Twp.; a U.S. Coastguard veteran of the Vietnam War; a member of VFW Post 537, Etters, and American Legion Post 974, Fairview Twp. Mr. Keiper enjoyed, more than anything, recreating out-of-doors. Boating, fishing and hunting were less hobbies than life-long passions. He found serenity and a spiritual connection when in the natural world, and never felt more at peace than when under then sun and on the water. With a compassionate heart and welcoming sense of humor, Tom enjoyed sharing a laugh and conversation during every encounter and forged many important and enduring friendships. Born on December 13, 1948, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mildred (Shipley) Keiper. He was the widower of the beloved Deborah Sherlock Keiper and was also preceded in death by his son, Thomas M. Keiper, and a sister, Virginia Ann Rubinic.
Surviving are his son and his wife, Matthew J. and Jaclyn Keiper of Traverse City, MI; two grandchildren, McKinley and Addison; several nieces and nephews and his dear friend Lori Gilbert.
A memorial service will be held at 6 PM on Sunday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
