Timothy A. Winter, 57, of Mechanicsburg, passed away early on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, with family by his side. He was the son of Ronald and the late Helen “Betty” (Laudermilch) Winter, and was born on May 28, 1966.
He played both baseball and football throughout his time at Cedar Cliff High School (Class of ’84). He spent most of his working years as a warehouse worker, employed by several companies in the mid-state.
Tim loved fishing and tending to his vegetable garden, but also spent many evenings at Trindle Bowl. He would become an exceptional bowler, notching two perfect games in his lifetime. He enjoyed golf, especially if it meant time on the course with his dad or his son. He had a soft spot for animals and had a dog or cat by his side for most of his life.
He was a very good cook and spent a few years using his skills at the Mechanicsburg American Legion. At home, he found a great deal of joy in cooking and grilling for family gatherings. Tim was a die-hard fan of the Eagles and Phillies, and he was comically stubborn; no matter how wrong he may have been, there was no wavering on his part. Despite his tough exterior, he had a huge heart, and his unique personality will be missed tremendously.
Surviving is his fiancée and partner of 20 years, Penny Stoner; his son and daughter, Timothy K. Winter (Stacy) of Harrisburg and Alicia Winter (Aaron Smithgall) of Dillsburg; stepchildren, Samuel Britt of Mechanicsburg and Levi Britt of Carlisle; a granddaughter, Brianna; his father, Ron Winter of Mechanicsburg; sister, Amy E. Rynex (Edward) of Mechanicsburg; two nephews, Owen and Evan Rynex, both of Mechanicsburg; aunts, uncles and several cousins.
A public visitation will be held from 1-2PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A memorial service will follow at 2PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Tim’s name to either: Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111, or to Residential Home Health & Hospice, 100 Sterling Parkway, #110, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
