Tommy Peslis, 58, of Ocala, FL, and formerly of Lemoyne, PA, died Thursday, August 2, at home. Son of the late Diamanto (Blikas) and George J. Peslis, he was born on January 3, 1960, in Agrinio, Greece.
Tommy’s greatest passion in life was spending time with family, children, grandchildren, and godchildren. He shared his love of the outdoors (hunting, fishing and boating) with all. He spent most of his time mentoring his successors and made sure that he NEVER thought of himself. Tommy retired from SCI Department of Corrections, Camp Hill, in 2010, after 25 years of service. He was a superior marksman and fisherman, the likes of whom won’t be seen again soon. He was a member of the Velouchi-Evrytanian Association, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Camp Hill, PA, and the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, York, PA. He was a member of the SCI CAMP HILL Retirees. His achievements are encompassed by the fact that he was a US Army Green Beret and that he made sure that his children beared all the names of his predecessors, and were raised with and practiced Greek Orthodox values. In short, he was a MAN OF HIS WORD.
Surviving are his wife, Megan L. (Morrill) Peslis; his children, Elias, Niko, George, Natane Diamanta, Spyridon, and Kalliope Peslis; a stepson, Cameron Moore; a goddaughter, Allie Aftosmos; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Maria Peslis; his grandchildren, Sophia, Athena, Helena, Athanasios, Alexandra, and George, and too many more to name; many nieces and nephews; and his former wife, and the mother of his eldest children, Diana Peslis. Tommy was preceded in death by his father, George J. Peslis and his mother Diamanto (Blikas) Peslis.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30AM on Friday, August 10, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Camp Hill. A visitation will be held at the cathedral, prior to services, from 10-11:30AM. Burial will take place at 9:30AM, Monday, August 13, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Tommy’s memory to Spyridon A. Peslis & Kalliope M. Peslis. Tommy’s memory will live on in the never-ending love of his wife Megan and his children.
