Vera Kern Voystock

Vera Kern Voystock, 90, formerly of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019, in Country Meadows, Mechanicsburg.

Vera was born in Catawissa, PA, the daughter of the late Foster B. and Dorothy Kern. Vera dedicated her days to family, homemaking, book clubs, crafts, charity activities, Easter basket making, Christmas party hosting, and birthday card writing. She perfected the art of corn chowder and bargain shopping. A force to be reckoned with at cribbage, scrabble, Chinese checkers, and almost any card game, she fondly taught her children and grandchildren the art of the game and of losing gracefully.

When you came through her front door, there were always hugs, kisses, and songs. Every family member has their unique “Nana-made” alliterative nickname. And each has a “Nana-made” crochet blanket to wrap around themselves and remember her love for years to come.

Vera was the widow of John F. Voystock, Jr., Lt. Col., US Army Ret., and is survived by her children, Dorothy V. Rumbel (Larry) of Warrior’s Mark, PA, Thomas K. Voystock (Ron) of Lakeville, MA, Nancy J. Dubicki (Mike) of Lakeville, MA, and John F. Voystock III (Kay) of Boiling Springs, PA, as well as five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren.

A graveside ceremony will be held at 1pm on Tuesday April 30 in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp., PA.
