Veronica D. Ross, 90, former long-time resident of the Presbyterian Apartments, Harrisburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 15, 2016.
She retired as a secretary from the State of New York. She also worked for the Board of Elections in Brooklyn, NY. She surrendered her life to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was baptized at Salem Gospel Tabernacle, Brooklyn, NY. Mrs. Ross was a member of First Assembly of God, Harrisburg and had also taught Sunday school in her former years. She loved being with her family and going on vacations with them. Born in Southbridge, MA on July 17th, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Samuel) Dzicek. She was the widow of Stanley Ross and was also preceded in death by a brother and sister, Walter Dzicek and Stephanie Freeman and a son-in-law, Joseph Capici.
Surviving are her son and his wife, Kenneth and Jill Ross of Etters; her daughter, Virginia Capici of Staten Island, NY; a sister, Sophie Duda of Staten Island, NY; three grandchildren; Jessica Hanson, Sarah Burke and Joel Ross; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, January 30th at First Assembly of God, Harrisburg with Pastor Terry Lamer officiating. There will be no viewing because Veronica generously dedicated her body to scientific study through the Humanity Gifts Registry, Philadelphia.
