Vicki Coleen Squire

Vicki Coleen Squire, 66, of New Cumberland, Fairview Township, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday evening, March 6, 2018. Born on August 7, 1951, in Mechanicsburg, she was the daughter of the late Presley Rex and Arlene M. Kinley Squire.

Vicki worked as an assistant to Deborah Hoover of Hoover Rehabilitation, Mechanicsburg. She graduated from Red Land High School in 1969 and attended Montpelier University in France in the early 1970s.

She enjoyed camping with a passion and visited Assateague Island frequently. She engaged in many outdoor activies, especially swimming and hiking. She loved to go to Hawk Mountain and watch the soaring birds of prey.

She enjoyed traveling, especially in her early twenties. She backpacked throughout Europe.
A great basketball player, Vicki played women's semi-professional basketball throughout Europe.

After returning home, Vicki started a restaurant called Yesterdays. She continued throughout her life to be involved in many endeavors, adventures and support activities. She was especially involved in the care of the elderly and infirmed. The people she helped spoke so warmly of her caring gifts.

Vicki is survived by three sisters, Kathleen Marie Squire Sandnes (New Cumberland), Jennifer Arlene Squire Gill (Etters), and Amy Rexann Squire Fritz (New Cumberland); two brother-in-laws, Paul Sandnes and Jon Gill; one niece, Ellee Morgan Fritz, one uncle, Oscar Squire (Mechanicsburg); seven cousins, Deborah Snell Hoover, Douglas Snell, Michael Squire, Matthew Squire, Karen Albert Devine, John Albert, and Pamela Albert Coulson.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
