Vivian Chalmers Walker, 95, formally of New Cumberland, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 in Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg.
She was the widow of William L. Walker, DDS, who passed away on June 26, 2002. Surviving are 2 sons, James W. Walker and wife Lyleann of Jackson, New Jersey, and Thomas L. Walker and wife Sharon of Mt. Airy, MD., 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was born and raised in Harrisburg and graduated from John Harris High School in 1936 and was formerly employed by the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot and the Harrisburg School District. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Cumberland and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was active in the Harrisburg Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered for many years, and the New Cumberland Woman’s Club. She also volunteered at the New Cumberland Library.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2013 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Cumberland with the Rev. D. Evan Houck, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township following the service.
