Vivian J. “Mom” O’Donnell, 95, of New Cumberland, died Monday, October 23, 2017,
at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence in Harrisburg.
She retired as a secretary from the former Mechanicsburg Navy Depot; she also worked as a welder during WWII. She enjoyed volunteering at the Bethesda Mission, and was also a member of Woodmen of the World.
She was a woman of deep faith, loving mother, and devoted wife. She may be absent from us in the physical now however always alive in our hearts.
She was born August 5, 1922 in Richfield, PA, to the late Thomas Jefferson and Nora (Pyle) Spriggle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John T. “Jack” O’Donnell.
She is survived by a daughter, Eileen S. Kroh, of New Cumberland; two sons, John T.
O’Donnell, of Denver, CO, and Tommy R. Spriggle, of Linglestown; nine grandchildren, Tommy, Alan, Audra, Dana, Katie, Brian, Charity, Christopher, and Kevin; and ten great-grandchildren
Viewing will be from 10am until the memorial service at 11:30am Monday, October 30, at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Committal services will be held at 1pm Monday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to The Salvation Army, 1122 Green St., PO Box 61798, Harrisburg, PA 17106.
