W. Thomas Brown, 65, of Lower Allen Twp., New Cumberland, died suddenly Wednesday morning, April 13, 2022, in Lower Paxton Twp.
After graduating from Bishop McDevitt High School, Tom worked for the United States Postal Service for almost 40 years and retired as the Postmaster of New Cumberland. He was a very active member of the United Postmasters and Managers of America (United PMA) organization and served in various national, regional, and local leadership/representative roles throughout the years. Tom was also a boy scout, an altar server, a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland, and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 869, Linglestown.
Born on September 21, 1956, in Bryn Mawr, he was the son of Joan E. (Brennan) Brown of Harrisburg. He is preceded in death by his father Robert J. Brown, Sr. and brother David.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his companion, Ann E. DeWitt of Sunbury, and her family; three daughters, Christine Dugan of Hershey, Jennifer Mauro of Harrisburg, and Nicole Ail of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Michael, Sydney, Mackenzie, Jackson, and Summer; seven brothers and sisters, Robert, Michael, Kevin, Mary (Dugan), Kathleen, Timothy, and Patricia (Katzenmoyer); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, April 18 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St., New Cumberland, with the Rev. Kyle Sahd as celebrant. Burial will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 9 AM until 10:30 AM at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus.
