Walter J. Simco

Walter J. Simco, 82, of Lewisberry died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Harrisburg Hospital.

Served as an Army Military Policeman, and retired draftsman from John Brinjac Kambic Engineering, Inc., Harrisburg. He graduated from Penn State University and was a member of Holy Infant Parish, York Haven.

He was born September 7, 1933 in Barnesville to the late Walter Basil and Mary (Shunski) Simco. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Dodson.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (McNiff) Simco; Walter was extremely loving and proud of his children, Walter (Carla) of Lewisberry and William (Lori) of Wellsville and JoAnne VanTassel (Brian) of New Cumberland and Jane Althouse of Denver; two sisters, Mary Burda of Seminole, FL and Margaret Doran of Virginia Beach, VA; a brother, Stephen of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A lover of nature, he found great pleasure and solace on the mountain where he crafted his home. He admired God’s handiwork daily through the woods, foliage, stone, and wildlife.

Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place on the family cemetery.
