Wanda Lee Whitney, 94, of Thornton, NH, formerly of New Cumberland died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Meredith Bay Colony Club, Meredith, New Hampshire.
She was the former co-owner/operator of Mountainside Ski and Sports, Mechanicsburg and an active member of Camp Hill Presbyterian Church.
Wanda was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and a friend to many. To know Wanda was to love her. She will be sadly missed.
She was born May 23, 1923 in Birds, IL to the late Vern and Dora (Tolar) Smith. The widow of Gardner R. “G.R.” Whitney, she was also preceded in death by a son Richard E. Whitney.
She is survived by a son, David E. and his wife Patricia L. Whitney of Thornton, NH; three grandchildren, Jonathan D. Whitney, Michelle R. Olsen, and Amelia C. Whitney; and four great-grandchildren, Bauer, Lily, Bryce, and Ember.
Visitation will be from 10am until memorial services at 11am Thursday, June 22 at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, 101 N. 23rd Street
