William E. Lewis

William E. Lewis, 80, of New Cumberland, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Medstar Washington Hospital, Washington, D.C.
He was a retired tool and die maker for AMP, Inc., Harrisburg and a Korean War Era Army veteran. Bill was a member of New Cumberland First Church of God. He enjoyed assisting his neighbors in the community and found great pleasure in helping others. In his retirement, Bill worked for many years with Parthemore Funeral Home.
Bill was born in Harrisburg to the late William H. and Violet (Heikel) Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of more than 56 years Isabel G. (Reiter) Lewis; his son Douglas E. and wife Jackie of Culpeper, VA; his daughter Denise A. DesRoches and husband Matthew of Etters; a brother Richard S. Lewis of Etters; a sister Shirley J. Jones of Burnet, TX; four grandchildren, Andrew, Rebecca, Jacob and Megan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A public viewing will be held from 4-6 pm Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Private funeral and committal services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill’s memory are encouraged to be sent to New Cumberland First Church of God, 323 Reno St. New Cumberland, PA 17070.
