William Haines Kent, 86, of Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill, died Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.
He retired in 2002 as the Executive Director of the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Democratic Caucus; attended Camp Hill High School and was a 1952 graduate of Mercersburg Academy; a 1956 graduate of Lafayette College; attended University of Pennsylvania in 1959, and a 1974 graduate of Penn State University at University Park. His topics of study majored in History, English and Political Science. Bill was an avid reader and enjoyed travel, opera, classical and jazz music. He was extremely kindhearted and benevolent.
Born on Wednesday, July 25, 1934, in Philadelphia, he was the adopted son of the late Willis H. and Susanna E. (Trostle) Kent.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Tanja (Protassowsky) Kent, and a son and his wife, W. Scott and Kimberly W. Kent of Harrisburg.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
