William J. “Jack” Robison, formerly of New Cumberland died Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Messiah Lifeways, Upper Allen Twp.
An Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII, Jack was a nose and tail gunner on a B-24 Liberator in the Pacific Theater, serving in 40 missions encompassing 5 campaigns and battles. He received various decorations and citations including the Purple Heart. Jack retired from PP&L after 43 years of service with his last position being Chief of Local System Operators for PP & L, Harrisburg. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Cumberland; Harrisburg Lodge No. 629, F & AM; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Shrine: Legion of Honor; and PP & L Live Wires Club.
He was born November 23, 1925 in York to the late William H. and Edna Ruth (Keefer) Robison. He was the widower of Henrietta Sue (Yingling) Robison and also preceded in death by a brother Nedson K. Robison.
He is survived by two sons, William H. (Sandra L) of Camp Hill and James E. (Lorraine P.) of Fort Walton Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Karen Robison (Gene) Tricia Robison (Erin Masterson), Steve Robison, and Alex Robison; three great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Nathan, and Frankie.
Visitation will be from 10am until funeral services at 11am Thursday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 530 Bridge St., New Cumberland, PA 17070 or to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
