William Leland "Lee" Freeman

January 30, 1946 — February 6, 2023

William Leland “Lee” Freeman, 77 of Camp Hill died Monday, February 6, 2023 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.

He started out in construction building homes which led to a career in construction management overseeing the building of offices and hospitals all over the country. His talent enabled him to build the family home in Lewisberry where he and Becky raised their family. He was also the owner and operator of the former New Cumberland News where he became a founding member of the New Cumberland Olde Town Association. He then became the owner and operator of the local Floor Coverings International franchise. He retired as a manager from the Home Depot in Mechanicsburg.

He enjoyed watching the Phillies, fishing, gardening (taking pride in his Hibiscus flowers), working on projects around the house with music on in the background, old cars, and watching the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction. He loved spending time with his family, adored his grandchildren and his constant companion, his Dachshund Woody.

He was born January 30, 1946 in Camden, NJ to the late William Neuby and Jane (Shill) Freeman. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jane and son, Michael.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ann (Keesey) Freeman; son, James Freeman (Samantha) of Acworth, GA; daughter, Mara Stewart (Bill) of Norfolk, VA; and grandchildren, Ryan Freeman, Adrienne Freeman, and Tucker Reiber.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
