William Paul Nelson

William Paul Nelson, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on January 29, 1937, to the late Walter Nelson, and Mae (Moninger) Nelson, in Holbrook, PA. William lived a life dedicated to family, hard work, and his passions, which included woodworking and gardening.

William spent his career as a truck driver, proudly serving the trucking industry with Suwak Trucking before retiring with Carolina Freight. A longstanding member of the Teamsters, he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his profession. He treasured the open road, but his heart was always at home with his loved ones. On Junes 12, 1956, he married Geraldine Kisner Nelson, who passed away on December 23, 1991. Two years later, on March 6, 1993, he married Nancy (Drumheller) Nelson.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy (Drumheller) Nelson, and his children, William Nelson (Beverly), Kelly Barnhart, and Tracy Horne (Mike); his 28 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life, as well as his beloved cat, Cocoa. He also inherited a new family with Nancy’s children, Jacquelyn Seibert (Dennis), Paul Baldari (Ruth), George Plesce (Angela), and Scott Plesce (Timbra). In addition to his first wife, Geraldine, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Nelson (Edna Faye); sister Martha Tennant (Paul); and his son, Douglas Nelson.

A public visitation will be held at 9:30AM on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland, followed by a memorial service at 10AM in honor of William’s life.

William Paul's warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He will forever be in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace, William Paul Nelson.
