William R. “Bill” Bobb, 67, of New Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at home. The son of Mary Ellen (Long) Bobb, and the late Frank Elmer Bobb, Jr., he was born on August 20, 1953 in Harrisburg.
Upon high school graduation, Bill entered the military, serving in the United States Air Force for four years. Following Bill’s military service, he went to work for the former New Cumberland Army Depot (DDRE), where he retired after a number of years. Bill wasn’t one to sit around for long, so he decided to go back to work in maintenance, this time for the West Shore School District, and then for Dorman Products (formerly Flight Systems Automotive Group). He was a hard worker at home too; whether it was mowing the lawn, snow blowing, or any other outdoor duties, Bill always took responsibility and refused to let his wife or kids do the work. In his free time, he would travel to his cabin in Loysville, where he could hunt and relax. He enjoyed being at home with his family, and those were the people he cherished most in life.
Surviving Bill is his wife of 19 years, Christine M. "Chrissy" (Walker) Bobb; his mother, Mary Ellen Bobb of Dillsburg; a brother, Jim Bobb of Manchester; his daughter, Denise Trutt of New Cumberland; his step-children, Andrew Miller of Harrisburg, and Althea Miller of New Cumberland; a granddaughter, Randi Bobb; a step-granddaughter, Haley Ingraham; and a boatload of in-laws, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Bobb.
A public viewing will be held from 5-7PM on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Services and interment will be private, and held at the family’s convenience. Bill’s final resting place will be in Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Lewisberry.
