William R. Keckler, Sr., 77, of Manchester, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, September 8, 2013.
He was a devoted husband and father; a meat cutter by trade; and a Pastor who shared the Gospel of Christ every chance he had including Pastoring Bethel Bible Church, Siddonsburg Rd., Mechanicsburg, Camp Site Evangelism, and convalescent homes in Lewisberry and Dallastown where he sang as well as spread the Gospel message. He was known for his love of people; he was slow to anger; and apt to teach. His hobbies were woodworking, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Keckler was born in Harrisburg to the late Benjamin and Caroline (Batdorf) Keckler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son William R. Keckler, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 61 years, Barbara J. (Quaid) Keckler; four sons, David of Dillsburg, Douglas of York, Jeffrey of Manchester, and Rob of Manchester; two daughters, Cheryl Conley of Etters and Jody Seavers of Lynchburg, VA; two brothers, Nevin, Sr. of Enola and Benjamin, Jr. of Ft.
