William Raymond Haines

William Raymond Haines, (Mr.Bill) 79, of New Cumberland died Monday, March 30, 2020 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital.

An Air Force Veteran, he was a retired surveyor from Yule, Jordon, and McKnee, Camp Hill. After retirement he started a second career as Owner of West Shore Rug and Upholstery. A longtime resident of New Cumberland, he attended New Cumberland High School, loved being on the river, it was his favorite place to be and camping on the island with Tina and dog Babe. He loved surf fishing and traveling across the country with Tina! When you see a Green Rolling Rock label, think of Mr. Bill! He was an active member of New Cumberland VFW Post 7415 and loved his club and was loved by many there.

He was born June 13, 1940 in Harrisburg to the late Raymond William Haines and Lorina Romaine Potteiger. He was preceded in death by his wife Christina Haines.

He is survived by his daughter, Tami D. McDonough of New Cumberland; son, Timothy W. Haines (Sherri) of Shiremanstown; brothers, Daryl Potteiger of New Cumberland and Keith Potteiger of Camp Hill; grandchildren, Becki Hurley (Matthew) of Mechanicsburg, Lacey J. McDonough of New Cumberland, Ryan W. Haines of Shiremanstown, Katilynn S. Haines of Shiremanstown, Ellilynn H.Haines of Shiremanstown; and three great-grandchildren, Aleena, Cooper, and Carter.

Due to concerns regarding COVID, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Hospice of Central PA.
