William Schlaupitz, 89, of Silver Spring Twp., Mechanicsburg, PA, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, at his home.
He retired as the Safety Director for Consolidated Coal, Pittsburgh, PA; was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, an avid trap shooter and a member of the Washington Sportsmen Assn. Born on December 21, 1928, in Washington, PA, he was the son of the late Alfred and Julia (Korbeley) Schlaupitz. He was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Helen B. Britton Schlaupitz; a son and his wife, William K. and Victoria Schlaupitz of Eloy, AZ; two daughters, Gloria "Dorbi" Sullivan of Bristow, VA, and Linda Maliniak and her husband, Dr. Keith Maliniak, of Lewisberry, PA; Ruby May of Bristow, VA, who was like a daughter; a sister, Eleanor Boyles of Washington, PA; a grandson and three granddaughters; six great grandchildren.
Private entombment will be held in Washington Cemetery, Washington, PA. Please omit flowers.
