Yvonne W. (Prowell) Gettys, 90, of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024, at her home in Camp Hill, PA, with her three daughters by her side. She was born on August 28, 1934, in Lisburn, PA to the late James F. and Mabel (Comp) Prowell, Jr. Yvonne’s priority throughout her life was centered on her love and devotion to her family. Her family was blessed recently to celebrate her 90th birthday. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill; the West Shore Country Club for over 50 years; and enjoyed times in the winter with family and friends in Ft. Myers Florida.
She is survived by three daughters, Krista Yvonne Johansen of Mechanicsburg, Lisa Ann (Leroy, Jr.) Sheaffer of Lewisberry, and Jana Lynn (Adam) Siegel of Leesburg, VA ; one sister, Shirley (Tom) Sucic of New Cumberland, a sister-in-law, Evalene Eichelberger of Messiah Lifeways; and eight grandchildren, Stephen, Jr. (Dominique) Johansen, Lauren (Nathan) Campbell and Michael (Stephanie) Johansen, Jamie (John) Esser, Valerie Sheaffer, Brett Siegel, Corryn (Seth) Leuz, and Mark Siegel; and 4 great-grandchildren; Demetria, Logan and Nicholas, and Sophia. Yvonne was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband of 60 years, Fred A. Gettys; a son-in-law, Stephen Johansen, Sr., and her in-laws Glenn D. and Margaret A. (Zeigler) Gettys, and a brother-in-law, George Eichelberger.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 10 – 11 AM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, with a funeral to follow at 11 AM. Burial will take place immediately after at Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Township. A luncheon will follow at 1 PM Penn Harris Hotel, 1150 Camp Hill Bypass, Camp Hill, PA.
