Zedna M. Haverstock

Zedna M. Haverstock, 85, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Lemoyne, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg.

She was a retired treasurer/comptroller with the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg; past delegate to several U.M Church General Conferences; past member of several General U.M. Church Boards and Committees including the Board of Pensions, and General Finance and Administration; and was very active with the United Methodist Women at her church and Conference levels. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg and its choir, and was an avid fan of Penn State.

Zedna was born in Lemoyne, PA to the late Charles and Ruth (Wrightstone) Shaffer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Calvin B. Haverstock, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Douglas C. Haverstock and wife Andra of Mechanicsburg and Denise M. Rife and husband Jeffrey of Syracuse, NY; grandchildren, Daniel and Sarah Rife, Nicole, Taylor, Hannah and Ian Haverstock; and two great grandchildren, Jarred and Alyssa.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 23, 2019 in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1480 Jerusalem Rd. Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Committal will be private and at the convenience of the family.
