Deovion Yates Funeral Director Intern

Deovion Yates has joined Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services as Funeral Director Intern. Deovion graduated from Northampton Community College in May 2024 with an Associate’s degree in Funeral Service. As a part of Pennsylvania’s funeral director licensing requirements, graduates must serve a one-year internship following graduation.

Gibby Parthemore, Supervisor, said that the funeral home is delighted to have Deovion on the team. “We are blessed to have someone of her caliber working with us. She is very dedicated to serving families during their time of need.”

“I knew that I wanted to be a funeral director since the 6th grade,” said Deovion. “So being a part of the funeral home’s tradition of caring for families is the realization of goal I’ve been working towards for many years.”

Deovion grew up in the Harrisburg area and attended Central Dauphin East High School, prior to attending college. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, relaxing and playing pickup basketball.

Mother’s Day can prove to be challenging for anyone who is mourning the loss of their mother, even long after she passed. It can also be difficult to find meaningful ways to honor your mother and her life on Mother’s Day. Even though your mother is no longer here, you can still celebrate and remember her in ways that reflect the life that was unique to her.
